In the photos below, members of the First Company Governor's Foot Guard and members of the Second Company Governor's Foot Guard participate in a funeral and reinterment ceremonies for Governor Samuel Huntington. Governor Huntington was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, served as both a representative and President of the Continental Congress, and served as Connecticut's Governor from 1786 until his death in 1796. As President of the Continental Congress when the Articles of Confederation were accepted, Governor Huntington may have actually been the first President Of The United States.
