While the First Company was founded in 1771, it was not until 1004 that a permanent band was established. On Sunday, May 2, 2004, the First Company celebrated the 100th birthday of its band with a gala concert in the Bushnell Memorial's Belding Theater. A reception followed the hall across town at the First Company's historic armory on High Street.
