Welcome to the website of the First Company Governor's Foot Guard, a Connecticut organization consisting of an extraordinary group of men and women who come together committed to carry on a tradition that is older than our country.

The Governor's Guard, as it was originally known, was established October 19, 1771. It was created by resolution of the General Assembly of the Colony of Connecticut. The Company was chartered to attend upon and guard the colonial Governor and General Assembly of Connecticut.

Although our duties have become more ceremonial, we still carry out this function today providing all the pomp and circumstance for Inauguration Day. We invite you to browse our web site to become more familiar with our organization and some of our activities. If you are interested in membership, or for more information on the First Company or our history,  please  CONTACT US.
